Wednesday August 25th 2010 in People Tree's Autumn/Winter Campaign for 2010.

After a successful stint as creative consultant for People Tree's "Love from Emma" range, Emma returned as the face of People Tree for their autumn/winter campaign. While she did not play an active role in the design and style of clothing, she did participate in promotion around Dhaka, Bangladesh; Emma not only toured the slums of the workers, but also helped in the manufacture of some clothing, gave out food packages to the children of Dhaka and even helped in one of the primary schools as a tutor!

Filming starts 18 December

filed under: General

Thanks to Emma’s Official site for informing us that Emma will begin filming her parts in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on the 18 December. Filming started earlier this autumn, but none of which included Emma.

New Emma article

filed under: Emma News,HPHBP,Interviews

Added a new article, which speaks about HBP and other randomosities.

“It’s funny because it happened to me when I was so young,” Watson tells Sun Media. “You barely notice yourself growing up when it’s happening, but I guess that’s what has happened, really. It’s very peculiar looking back on them and seeing how much I’ve changed and how much I’ve grown and what I looked like before all this happened. But, in a way, that’s what people really identify with. It makes it a real journey — a very real journey — because we literally are growing up with the characters.”

View the article here in our press archive (psst, this article was our 100th article! We’ve got loads more!). Sorry about the delays in news and such – we’re all very busy, cooking up lots of fun stuff for the Christmas season. :D Toodles poodles!

OotP DVD + Promotion for Aussies

filed under: EWOcom Updates,Movie News

I picked up my copy of OotP on Friday, and I have screencapped the entire movie; I also have well over 800 HD caps of Hermione to upload. However, I cannot upload them until I technical problems are sorted out on my end; you should expect the caps to be up sometime this week. I have also capped the bonus features – alas, no trio interview, but there are a few unseen interview segments available, and they were capped, inlcuding (I think) a new look for Emma, which I find very pretty.

Also, in my copy of the OotP DVD, there was a competition thingy available only to Australians, to win one of 20 collectable prize packs, including the Order of the Phoenix Scene It? DVD game, plus Dumbledore’s Army memorabilia. To enter, just go to orderofthephoenix.com.au, register and answer the following question in 25 words or less:

Who is your favourite new character in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and why?

So yes, little competition for Aussies. Stay tuned for further updates.

Lastly, EWO.com has updated with some new pictures (from the Hand, Wand, Foot Ceremony I believe). I can’t view any of them at the moment, so no teaser possible.

EDIT! Don’t forget to vote for Emma at the People.com‘s celebrity central page.

New interview from OotP DVD Launch

filed under: Emma News,Interviews

Thanks to r/hr fan 22 from our comments for the tip!

Another interview, this time from The Herald Sun, has been released of the entire cast who went to the launch! I can’t see the video myself (plug-ins and whatnot), but I’ve been told it includes Emma talking about her younger step-sisters, Ballet Shoes and post-Potter. To view the video, click here.

(If anyone can get a downloadable version, that would be swell. :D )

EDIT: The video Kaetlyn posted didn’t work for me either, but this one did :) - Lynn

EDIT: New interview with the trio, where Rupert divulges the first name of the girl who snagged the role of Lavender Brown! Leads to interviews with the trio. Click here for the news thingo mabob, in our new fantabulous press archive!

She seems really sweet and perfect for the role of Lavender. The casting is so good and I am looking forward to her scenes with Ron. I think it’s going to be quite a comic film.

EDIT: Thanks to Kristi in our comments, we have added a new transcript to the press archive. Feel free to read the entire article here. Also, I’ve added about 30 more interviews (past and present) to the archive (for those interested, there are over 85 news articles waiting to be read! Go now!). Warning: spoilers for Half Blood Prince!

“In this next one there’s a lot of emphasis on the relationship between Hermione and Ron and I think this next one will be more comic. I think the last one was a lot darker and heavier and this one will be funnier and more light-hearted”, said Emma Watson who plays Hermione.

DVD Launch & Awards

filed under: EWOcom Updates,Emma News,Interviews ; tagged , , ,

Thanks to Emma-Watson.net and TLC for letting us know about a few bits of news! We have our first bit of footage from the DVD launch, a bit of an interview with Emma. It is, unfortunately, dubbed in Hungarian so it’s difficult to understand, but check that out anyway here on YouTube!

Emma ranked 24th in Harper Bazaar’s Best Dressed of 2007 list, along with J.K. Rowling at 7th! You can check the list of the top 25 out here at Ireland Online.

DanRadcliffe.com posted a translation of a short article from the DVD launch that quotes Emma as saying “I’m like Hermione. I’m a geek who likes to go to school and learn.”

Finally, Emma Watson Official was updated with news that Emma was presented with the Gouden Flip Best Actress award during the DVD launch junket. There’s a picture of it up in her dressing room, so do check that out!

EDIT: Thanks to hbpmoviepics on LiveJournal, we have our first video from the launch in English! Check it out on YouTube here!

EDIT! I’ve added 10 or so new icons to the emma section, to keep you guys entertained while we wait (even more!) for those DVD launch pictures. Anyone else for ganging up on WB?

OotP DVD Launch + Emma’s thoughts on Dumbledore’s outing

filed under: EWOcom Updates,HPOOTP,New Photos

This is a LONG post!

Oh, dear god. Are you ready for this? The DVD launch. Until now the only thing regarding the DVD launch that has surfaced is a report from a crappy newssite (as well as some photos Emma’s dad took, but I’ll go back to those in a bit), who are so unbelievably rude, I can’t believe it! They were not rude about Emma (and they were completely gushing about Dan), but they were not particularly nice or on topic, for that matter, either. I am including her bits here. Click here to read the whole article. Thanks Rose via VTM.

Next it was off to Emma Watson who happened to be stationed in … Dumbledore’s Office! As it was the last time I met her, she was delightful. Rumoured to be rather prickly at times, on both occasions she’s been in fine form – super friendly, super chatty, very girly, and not Emmy Rossum. Nor in any danger of turning into one. Yet.

Last time she wanted to know about my nail polish, this time I went in right after my colleague Danielle McGimsie who was wearing a grey tunic over black tights and black suede boots. I was wearing a black and grey striped tunic, black tights, and grey boots. Emma commented that “Canadians are always so smartly dressed”. I will love her forever.

She herself had just had her hair blown out, in jeans and flats under a black cotton blouse, well accessorised as she was before. She told me she’s been super busy with the new movie and catching up with her “homework”. Hee.

I asked her how she was going to avoid turning in to Britney Spears. She told me she doesn’t hang out on the scene, said England, even with its sometimes pervasive paparazzi presence, can shelter young celebrities better than her American counterparts. I also asked her how it was on set in the 6th movie with all the hook ups and the making out. She laughed, seemed to be relieved that she had little to do with “all the kissing”.

As I briefly mentioned above, the only photos from the event are those of which Emma’s dad took. They are now up on Emma’s Official Site, so you can just click the link to see those. Here is a preview:

DVD launch

I can’t express how disappointed I am though. I want pictures! Hopefully something more will eventually surface. It is extremely strange if no press photographers were invited (and no proper reporters). If not, this whole event seems pretty useless, if you ask me.

EDIT: Thanks to Masterofmystery who found an article from the Edmonton Sun where Emma talks about the furor the outing of Dumbledore has caused. This is possibly from the launch, so hopefully these are just the first of many?

Actress Emma Watson is astounded by the furor over revelations that Harry Potter’s mentor Professor Dumbledore is a homosexual.

“I couldn’t believe what I was reading,” Watson tells Sun Media about the negative backlash toward author J.K. Rowling. “This is the 21st century! I just could not believe the amount of fuss that was being made over Dumbledore being gay.”

Watson spoke up on the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Watson, who portrays Harry’s friend Hermione, was pleased when Rowling first casually outed the Dumbledore character.

“I never actually thought about it before but, when she said it, I thought, ‘Oh, yeah, that makes sense.’ ”

Now, however, 17-year-old Watson finds it “horrific” parents have proclaimed they will not let their children read the books or watch the movies.

“I find it so shocking … Oh my goodness! Oh dear!”
