Seeing as this is quite a worthy cause, this deserves an update! The Guardian and Emma Watson Official have updated with news on Emma’s latest endeavour – fashion! Teaming up with People Tree, Emma has chipped in to create a range of clothing, all of which is ethically Fair Trade! From shirts to skirts, knitwear to bed spreads, the collection is due to be released in early 2010, both in stores and online.
Emma had a bit to say on the subject, commenting:
“I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.” source
“I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with.” source
Described as “clean, sexy and easy to wear” the collection is set to be released in February 2010. A promotional image for the collection was also released, view it here in the galleries.
