Preview from Emma’s feature in the Autumn/Fall Edition of “Entertainment Weekly”
Even though most of you are still reeling from Emma’s new hair cut (by the way, a high quality shot has been added!), we’ve got some new news! As you may recall Emma is currently in New York starting her promo-run with magazines and other press credentials for late-year issues of magazines; she has been confirmed for “Marie Claire”, but now we can report that she will be making an appearance in the autumn/fall edition of “Entertainment Weekly” and yes, her brand new haircut will be included! A small teaser for the feature has been released courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, as well as some snippets from the (assumedly) upcoming interview!
In the snippets Emma reveals the motivation behind her cut and gives a bit of detail about how the cut took place! We’ll try and see if we can get any further developments from Emma’s press tour in New York.

She’s not Hermione anymore. Emma Watson — the 20-year-old actress who has portrayed Harry Potter’s studious BFF, Hermione Granger, in six films over the past decade — has shorn off her character’s long tresses in favor of a short pixie haircut.
“Oh my God, it was the most liberating thing!” she tells EW.com. “The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it.” The chic, gamine cut, created by New York stylist Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon and seen in this exclusive Polaroid from EW’s upcoming Fall Movie Preview issue, might not seem like a huge deal to most 20-year-olds. But Watson has had to sport essentially the same hairstyle for ten years while she played Hermione.
“I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through,” she says. “I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’” Watson, who’s about to enter her sophomore year at Brown University, finished shooting the final two Potter movies this summer — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be released Nov. 19, 2010, and Part 2 next summer, on July 15. source
Also, Emma is not returning as the face of Burberry for next season’s campaign; she is being replaced by former Burberry model and up-and-coming actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. There are currently a few articles which discuss the change but it seems Burberry likes to change it’s spokesperson every two years or so in a bid to appear fresh and mode.

It looks so different :)
But everybody needs some changes and in fact she was poor that she couldn’t take the liberty of changing her image because of the Hermione role. I believe that it was quite important experience for her. One thing is sure – Emma still looks stunning! :)

I think she looks gorgeous. We’ve all been fans of her and her hair since 2001 when the 1st movie came out. It’s a big change that she’s wanted to do for a long while now, and since she doesn’t really have any major movie roles (or maybe she’s doing this for a role also…), she just did it.
On JJ, it said that since Emma is going to Brown in Sept, she’s doing her HP promotion right now. By the way that sounds, it seems like she’s not going to do promoting in November for the movie. Can someone ask her on her Twitter if she’s doing TV talk shows in NYC, going to the premieres and actually PROMOTING the movie? If she doesn’t, it’ll be even more shocking than her cutting her hair.

I’m sorry, but I agree. Emma’s hair is horrible. I understand the need of wanting to change hairstyles after 10 years of keeping your hair long, but seriously, at least choose a style that’s different but looks good on you. Emma’s hair does not flatter her. She looks like a boy…

I think Emma’s new cut is GREAT. I admire her independence. I don’t think she looks like a boy at all. She looks like Emma with a very short haircut.
She’s been getting absolutely trashed by some fans on other HP web sites. It’s RIDICULOUS.

I’ve seen plenty of “pretty boy” types in my time, and I have to respectfully disagree with those fans who don’t like it; she looks nothing like a boy. But I think she’d look gorgeous bald, so what do I know. Think she’s way prettier than Mia Farrow or Twiggy ever were, JMO.

Her eyes are just so sad, i dont know why. I think she has enough of HP, she seems tired of it all. I understand it was a long time, but as fan who would give her left arm to a chance like hers, it is little…hmmm kinda sad.

@Casia Yeah, it seems like she couldn’t wait to distance herself from Harry Potter as soon as possible. It’s sad, especially since all the other actors appreciate the opportunity they had been given with Harry Potter and are really enthusiastic about it.
