As we reported previously on Twitter, Emma is the August cover girl for ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ (UK). The first pictures, and snippets from the interview, have been released online by DailyMail.co.uk. In the photoshoot, Emma portrays two sides of herself – a “naughty” side, a Gaga-esque, dark-haired, wigged maiden; and a “nice” side, with Emma seemingly frolicking in a field of flowers in a flowy white dress. The magazine will be on sale in the UK, and in select stores worldwide, from July 4. A clearer version of the cover can be seen here in the galleries.

You can check out the photoshoot here in our galleries, or follow the previews below. Emma is wearing the latest season’s Yves Saint Laurent and Emilio Pucci, with more haute couture brands to be featured during the editorial.

“Leaving Brown had nothing to do with bullying, as the media have been suggesting recently. I have never been bullied in my life. Like a lot of other students at Brown, I might spend my third year abroad. [on studying in the UK] ‘I felt suddenly very claustrophobic…I thought, ‘I can’t stay here, I won’t be able to concentrate, I won’t be left alone.’”

“My acting tutor said the hardest thing for me was to get angry. I almost broke down in tears when they tried to get me to be angry. I said, ‘I can’t do it, I just can’t do it.’ I keep all of that really bottled up somewhere and I feel unleashing it would be the scariest thing – and to let myself be powerful, sexy, all those things, it’s scary for me. [Even playing the bad girl in this shoot] felt a bit uncomfortable and awkward, it didn’t come naturally at all.”

“I feel if I have to work out four hours a day, and count the calories of everything I put in my mouth, and have Botox at 22, and obsess about how I look the whole time, I will go mad, I will absolutely lose it.” Read more at the source.

I’ve never known Emma to give an interview like this one before. Maybe I’m over-reacting, but I feel both sad and concerned for her. She sounded very unhappy to me. The pressures on her must be enormous. She’s said herself that being a mega-star from such an early age has never allowed her to be like other kids her age. I hope she’ll put aside the demands of those whose primary interest is in keeping her in the spotlight and do whatever makes her happy and gives her peace of mind. I worry for Emma.

Now I know many things about Emma Watson, but that is about life, the tastes of fashion and of course all about Hermione. Thank you. :-)
