The October issue for ‘Nylon’ magazine has been revealed and Emma, Ezra and Logan are all covering the issue! The spread will feature a new photoshoot by Nardeep Khurmi Guy Aroch, and has Emma, Logan and Ezra are grunged up, 90s style; a new interview will, assumedly, accompany the photoshoot. A tidbit from the stylist, makeup and nail artists have been published and can be seen below.
A rundown of the makeup styling used for the shoot has also been revealed by Napoleon Perdis; a few behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot are also shown on the “under cover” page from the magazine.
Emma Watson, who plays Sam in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, was up for just about anything at her New York City cover shoot, with co-stars Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller. “She didn’t want to wear earrings – so at one point she took an actual safety pin, cut off the sharp end, and put it through her ear,” says stylist Michelle Reneau, Nylon’s market editor. For Watson’s makeup, Jeanine Lobell focused on her eyes, with extra coats of “bold-black” mascara and dots of black eye pencil along the bottom lashes. Hairstylists Rheanne White added volume and texture to Watson’s short auburn hair: “I used the John Masters Organics Sea Salt Spray as a volumizer and Phytofix gel to sculpt the hair, combining the two products.” Plenty of attention was also paid to Watson’s nails. Nail artist Fleury Rose says the shoot was inspired by the photos of Joseph Szabo: “He took a lot of iconic photos of teenagers in the ’70s and ’80s – we really loved how the girls in all the photos were not perfect or professionally groomed,” she says. Rose created an ombre of nude pearlescent polishes “from pinky to thumb: I missed Illamasqua nail varnish in Monogamous with Illamasqua varnish in Prism for an opalescent nude. to create an ombre, I added a drop of Illamasqua top coat to the mixture – and another drop for each finger so it would create an ombre from opaque to nude across each hand.”
