Emma talks make-up habits and fashion in Hong Kong

A new interview, featuring a brand new outfit!, has come online recently. The interview was held while Emma was in Hong Kong promoting Lancôme earlier this month. You can check out the video here on Youtube. In it, Emma talks about her daily beauty routine, her favourite Lancôme products and using fashion as a self-esteem booster. Emma also wishes her Hong Kong fans a very Merry Christmas and a great new year.

“Hi Channel Young! I’m Emma Watson. I’m here today for Lancôme and I hope you’re having a great, great Christmas and wonderful celebrations. Thank you so much!”

“Yeah, I’m usually in a rush so I try and do everything quite quickly, but I don’t like the feeling of wearing too much stuff on my face. I think that’s one of the good things about Lancôme products, they don’t feel too heavy, they have a very light textures, they’re very breathable, and I’m always very careful about wearing sun protection and very, very careful about taking make-up off at night. Those are the main things I’m really, really careful about.”

“During the day I don’t wear too much but if I’m going out at night I’ll wear a sort of a very light foundation … the Miracle Compact is really good for that because it’s not really thick and you see the skin underneath, which is really nice. I think you have to do it in a way that says fun and just enjoy the process of getting ready. I always put on music, I light candles, I have friends with me … I make a whole thing out of it. Sometimes I enjoy the getting ‘ready part’ of my evening more than the going out part, which is a bit worrying, but I really enjoy that whole ritual.”

“More than anything I think fashion just has to be something that’s fun, if it’s not fun there’s no point in it really. It has to be something you enjoy and that makes you feel good and makes you feel comfortable, so I really focus on that. And yeah, just experimenting and being creative with it.”

Elle Taiwan have released a new behind-the-scenes video for another of Emma’s promotionals for Lancôme, the same products she was in Hong Kong to promote last week. The video, for Lancôme’s ‘Blanc Expert Derm-Brystal’ and ‘UV Expert BB Complete’ (thanks to Watson Uncensored for the info), was shot by Mario Testino and features Emma in a glittery silver dress.

A behind-the-scenes photo was also released.

Elle Taiwan also had a quick interview-type thing with Emma while she was in Hong Kong. According to the article (and a quick Google Translate that was as truncated as ever), Emma will continue to be the face of Lancôme in 2012 and enjoys using Lancôme’s ‘Expert’ line as it gives a natural look that doesn’t look like it’s caked on; she also mentioned that the product covers her flaws and blemishes effortlessly and provides “100 per cent coverage”.

As we reported previously Emma attended a V.I.P. Dinner for Lancôme in Hong Kong last night. As ambassadress, Emma was there to promote the brand and gave the attendees a preview into upcoming Lancôme lines. Clearer photos and video from the night are slowly trickling in and we’re slowly adding them to the galleries.

Emma wore a backless blue Ellie Saab dress and silver Jimmy Choo sandal pumps to the dinner.

Big thank you to Hillie at Saorise Ronan Web and Adoring-Emma@LJ for the clearer shots from the night! Please refer to our previous post for more photos from Emma’s promotions in Hong Kong.

“This is my first time to Hong Kong… this is my second time to Hong Kong. I came a few years ago and I absolutely love the city. I always love traveling in Asia. It has such an amazing and really interesting culture and history. I love the landscape. It’s a very urban city.”

Emma’s rumoured next stop will be at the Dubai International Film Festival for the premiere of “My Week With Marilyn”, along with co-stars Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. See more about this event.

Quotes, interviews and whatnots from the “My Week With Marilyn” London Premiere

A couple of nights ago, Emma attended the London premiere of “My Week With Marilyn” and lots of the international media were in attendance. As such, we’ve got a whole heap of interview tidbits and from the red carpet with lots of new Emma quotes about acting, Oxford, future projects and much more! Emma confirms in her People.com red carpet interview that she has projects (emphasis on the plural!) in the works but cannot talk about them as of yet.

In related news, the head costume designer on the set of “My Week With Marilyn” spoke recently to Instyle.co.uk about her project; in the interview, she talks about her inspiration for Lucy’s (Emma’s character) wardrobe and how she came about creating it.

“I’m studying and really excited about my next projects,” she said. “I can’t really talk about them right now, but I am going to try and fit in some film projects next year in between school.”

In My Week with Marilyn, which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Watson plays Monroe’s wardrobe assistant, Lucy. After the Harry Potter films, she was thrilled to take a role that wasn’t quite as high profile.

“I loved it,” she said. “It was less pressure, but at the same time it was an interesting role, although it was a small role. I loved the script and loved the story, and I’m very interested in Marilyn, so I really wanted to do it.”

And Emma Watson’s character comes across as slightly naïve but fashion conscious. How did you go about defining her character through costume?
I’d found, in my research, an original cast and crew photograph of The Prince and the Showgirl. Emma was based on a real character and so there was a girl, or a couple of girls, that we could have chosen [from the photograph] so I just picked up on one girl and I based Emma on her because she feasibly could’ve been her. She was wearing a tartan dress, so I found Emma an original tartan dress – all of Emma’s clothes were vintage. I also wanted to introduce a touch of the American influence with Emma because the youth culture was just hitting at that period and we had Jimmy Dean, Marlon Brando, Sandra Dee. I wanted to pick up on that Sandra Dee type of character.

Emma back for another Lancôme line? Talks beauty tips with Style.com

Style.com is reporting that Emma will be fronting another beauty line with Lancôme, this time for their ‘Rouge in Love’ lipstick and nail colour range. In their mini-interview with Emma, they find out what beauty products Emma swears by and her favourite picks from her make-up bag. You can check out the entire interview here in the press archives.

Emma Watson hung up her wizard hat this summer after the final chapter of the “Harry Potter” saga his theaters – and the Brit beauty has wasted no time putting Hermione Granger behind her. She’s got two new movies: “My Week With Marilyn”, out next month, and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, which will be released next year. And then there’s her new gig as the face of Lancôme’s Rouge in Love lipstick and nail polish range, which arrives in stores on Valentine’s Day (the actress already appears in ads for the French brand’s fragrance, Trésor Midnight Rose). Here, she shares her beauty essentials.

Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes
“I’m big into Twiggy so I do bottom lashes and top lashes. This is really cool because it’s specifically designed to get that look.”

Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover
“Way before I became the Lancôme ambassador, I was using the Bi-Facil. You can just leave it on to soak up your eye makeup and it doesn’t feel like your skin is being stripped away.”

Beauty Icon: Mia Farrow
“Going backwards, I love the naturalness of Jane Birkin and the French actresses who don’t look like they are trying too hard – which is definitely the coolest. But Mia Farrow was the big inspriation for the haircut.”

New Emma Watson interview and promotional still for “Perks”

The Post Gazette has released the second promotional still of Emma Watson and Logan Lerman as Sam and Charlie from the 2012 indie “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”. A new interview with Emma about prepping and campaigning for the movie and her time with her co-stars has also been released. The first stills for “Perks” were released earlier this week by The NY Times.

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” has a tentative 2012 release date and stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, Johnny Simmons and Nina Dobrev.

Edit! Picture has been replaced with high quality.

“I was very nervous before we started shooting. I was very nervous about the American accent,” she told a handful of reporters outside Peters Township High School. It doubles as Mill Grove High School in the story set largely in 1991-92.

Some of her cast mates, after all, had life experiences much like their movie characters — dances, football games, pep rallies and even graduation in white gowns (for the girls) and black gowns (for the boys) and matching mortarboards.

“They went to an American high school, they know what prom looks like, all these little details that I had no idea about. So I was a little neurotic.

“My script was covered in notes about all these American words, American slang. I was quizzing my friends about high school and prom and everything, and then Steve was just like, ‘Emma, this is great and everything, but you just really need to let all of that go’ because he said he saw me as Sam, and it was kind of as simple as that.”

During the peak of “Potter” promotionals we were bombarded with a whole heap of new interviews, photos and videos of Emma. It seems, however, that one magazine fell under the radar; ‘8 Days‘ magazine, a British glossy, in their July edition featured a brand new interview with Emma. Accompanying the interview, a whole heap of new photos from Emma’s commissioned shoot with Mariano Vivanco. Scans can be seen here and we’ll hopefully have a transcript up soon.
