Although previously shunning social networking sites, Emma has recently adopted means to communicate with her fans while she travels around the world, studies at Brown University and generally lives life as a regular girl-next-door.
Please note that while Emma does have all these places to communicate with fans she does deserve that her fans respect her privacy and that a healthy boundary between 'Emma-the-actress' and 'Emma-the-girl' should be maintained!

For the past week, news agencies have been reporting that Emma was in negotiations for the role of Anastasia Steele for the upcoming movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey”. Emma herself has broken the silence and shot down the rumours to Entertainment Weekly.
The Internet got all sorts of excited last week when rumors began to surface that Emma Watson was in talks for the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. Not so fast, says Watson. “I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” Watson tells EW. “There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – I never even saw a script!”
Watson is plenty busy: she has The Perks of Being a Wallflower in theaters this fall; she recently wrapped Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and is currently working on Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. She adds that even some friends and family asked her about Grey since so many different items linking her to the film have popped up online. “I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s any less true than if there are three or four.”
And a word to the wise for those who believe everything that they read about the actress: “The thing is I’m not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement.” Via EW.com
Edit! This has pretty much been confirmed by everyone on Twitter. A press statement was also released via Paramount which confirms Emma’s attachment to the project. “Noah” will be shot at Oyster Bay, Long Island.
Variety.com reported that Emma will play Ila, “a young girl Noah rescues who later experiences a miracle”, and who will serve as a love interest for the eldest of Noah’s sons, Shem, who will be played by ex-Burberry model, Douglas Booth.
@RussellCrowe I haven’t been approached by anyone to play Rupert Murdoch. That’s just a beat up.I am off to build a boat. Will be gone for quite some time.
@RussellCrowe no sails, no engine, runs purely on faith…does it bug anyone else that Noah’s sons are named in the bible…but not his wife…#re-write
“We’re shooting in Oyster Bay, Long Island,” a Paramount spokeswoman told Newsday. “Confirmed cast includes Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth.” Oscar-winner Crowe is set to play a version of Noah, whom the graphic novel’s publisher, Le Lombard, describes as “a Mad Max out of the depths of time.” (Connelly will play Noah’s wife, and Hopkins the 900-year-old Methuselah.) Are there any more fair trade collaborations on the horizon?
There has been a lot of speculation about my People Tree collections, with stories running that they ‘failed’ or that I was unhappy. This was really strange because I felt the opposite of this. From the two collections I did with People Tree overall sales were £446,000 which was a huge surprise. The collections generated work for 400 farmers, artisans and tailors! For me though, the most important part of the collaboration was that I was able to raise the profile of Fair Trade fashion which I think I did successfully. I visited Bangladesh to see the clothes being made and spoke with the factory workers first hand to understand what the real issues were so I would be able to talk about them in an informed and real way. In terms of other collaborations, I have decided I want to put all of my energy into my acting career but it was something I really enjoyed doing, learnt a lot from and am glad I did.

What sort of movie roles are you drawn to? Would you do another blockbuster franchise?
I am definitely staying away from blockbuster franchises for a while! In terms of the type of parts I am drawn to, I need to be interested in the role, and who I would be working with. The director’s vision is key. Sometimes what’s on the page isn’t always representative of what a piece can ultimately become and a great director can take a good script to another level and make it incredible.

Lucy in My Week with Marilyn was a small role – why haven’t you been taking lead roles recently?
The reason I hadn’t at that point taken on a full length part and had been doing some modelling work was because I did not have the time to dedicate to a lead role in a full length film as I have been studying for my degree. These smaller roles have also given me the time to learn a few different methods of film making. Smaller, more independent films sometimes allow more room for me to learn and grow.

What would Harry and Ron say about Hermione being in Perks?
Harry and Ron aren’t real people and I think that is confusing for people sometimes but I hope that Daniel and Rupert would like the film ! I am no longer playing the role of Hermione even though I love her dearly! I played her for so long of course it’s going to be hard for people to detach me from her but I am Emma and an actress and I hope I have many different people’s stories inside of me. If I am lucky Hermione will be just one of many female characters I will play during my career.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you regarding fame?
My mum said to me very early on in my career, “Never give anyone information that you aren’t comfortable discussing at any time, anywhere and with anyone – once you open the door on a subject it’s very difficult to close it.” That is very true and I am a very private person. It’s not always easy to follow but I try to keep it in mind. A film critic also once told me that acting was unlike any other in the entertainment industry – an actors job is to tell other people’s stories; to suspend an audiences disbelief and make them believe you are who you are portraying. That job is made almost impossible if your audience know too much about you, the actor, as a person. That has always stayed with me and the older I get the more I see the wisdom in it. However, as much as I might want to do that, I have to acknowledge that it’s not totally possible with the way my career turned out! People have watched me grow up and I think Harry Potter became more famous than I or I think anyone ever anticipated.

What advice would you give to your nine year old self?
I think I would have asked more questions of some of the amazing actors on the Potter films – Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Gary Oldman, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter, Kenneth Branagh – everyone – but I was only nine!

Filming on “The Bling Ring” has wrapped for Emma and she has jetted back to London to do … stuff. Emma has also added another project to her filmography. She will be playing herself in Seth Rogan’s directional debut in apocalypse film, “End of the World”, according to Variety.com. Variety are also reporting that Emma will start filming “Your Voice in My Head” this year.
After several weeks of courting, “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson has agreed to play herself in “End of the World,” an apocalyptic comedy from Mandate Pictures and Point Grey Pictures that Sony will distribute.
Watson had been skedded to shoot David Yates’ adaptation of Emma Forrest’s novel “Your Voice in My Head” this spring, but when Warner Bros. delayed the start of production a few weeks, she became available for “End of the World.” WME-repped thesp is currently filming Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring.”
David Yates is currently in London to promote the upcoming grand opening of the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studio Tour and sat down for several round-table interviews with the world’s press and various “Harry Potter” fansites. During one of the sit-down interviews, two fansites, LeakyNews.com and SnitchSeeker.com, asked Yates about his upcoming projec with Emma, “Your Voice in My Head”. David confirms that Emma is attached to star in the drama and remarks that she is very excited to be so. He also drops some very flattering statements about Emma’s acting potential and feels that, with the right role, Emma could be “incredible”.
And in other “Your Voices in My Head”-related news, the role of the terminally ill psychiatrist who helps Emma’s character find the meaning of life is currently being offered to renowned actor, Stanley Tucci, Variety.com reports. The film has yet to be green-lit but Yates expresses interest (in the first video interview above) to beginning filming in the summer.
