This is a LONG post!
Oh, dear god. Are you ready for this? The DVD launch. Until now the only thing regarding the DVD launch that has surfaced is a report from a crappy newssite (as well as some photos Emma’s dad took, but I’ll go back to those in a bit), who are so unbelievably rude, I can’t believe it! They were not rude about Emma (and they were completely gushing about Dan), but they were not particularly nice or on topic, for that matter, either. I am including her bits here. Click here to read the whole article. Thanks Rose via VTM.
Next it was off to Emma Watson who happened to be stationed in … Dumbledore’s Office! As it was the last time I met her, she was delightful. Rumoured to be rather prickly at times, on both occasions she’s been in fine form – super friendly, super chatty, very girly, and not Emmy Rossum. Nor in any danger of turning into one. Yet.
Last time she wanted to know about my nail polish, this time I went in right after my colleague Danielle McGimsie who was wearing a grey tunic over black tights and black suede boots. I was wearing a black and grey striped tunic, black tights, and grey boots. Emma commented that “Canadians are always so smartly dressed”. I will love her forever.
She herself had just had her hair blown out, in jeans and flats under a black cotton blouse, well accessorised as she was before. She told me she’s been super busy with the new movie and catching up with her “homework”. Hee.
I asked her how she was going to avoid turning in to Britney Spears. She told me she doesn’t hang out on the scene, said England, even with its sometimes pervasive paparazzi presence, can shelter young celebrities better than her American counterparts. I also asked her how it was on set in the 6th movie with all the hook ups and the making out. She laughed, seemed to be relieved that she had little to do with “all the kissing”.
As I briefly mentioned above, the only photos from the event are those of which Emma’s dad took. They are now up on Emma’s Official Site, so you can just click the link to see those. Here is a preview:
I can’t express how disappointed I am though. I want pictures! Hopefully something more will eventually surface. It is extremely strange if no press photographers were invited (and no proper reporters). If not, this whole event seems pretty useless, if you ask me.
EDIT: Thanks to Masterofmystery who found an article from the Edmonton Sun where Emma talks about the furor the outing of Dumbledore has caused. This is possibly from the launch, so hopefully these are just the first of many?
Actress Emma Watson is astounded by the furor over revelations that Harry Potter’s mentor Professor Dumbledore is a homosexual.
“I couldn’t believe what I was reading,” Watson tells Sun Media about the negative backlash toward author J.K. Rowling. “This is the 21st century! I just could not believe the amount of fuss that was being made over Dumbledore being gay.”
Watson spoke up on the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Watson, who portrays Harry’s friend Hermione, was pleased when Rowling first casually outed the Dumbledore character.
“I never actually thought about it before but, when she said it, I thought, ‘Oh, yeah, that makes sense.’ ”
Now, however, 17-year-old Watson finds it “horrific” parents have proclaimed they will not let their children read the books or watch the movies.
“I find it so shocking … Oh my goodness! Oh dear!”
Hey y’all! While we wait for pictures of the DVD launch to come out (I’ve heard image agencies won’t release them until sometime this week!), I’ve found and uploaded 17 new HQs of Emma at the Nick Choice Awards! Woo hoo! There are some really nice ones in this batch, including Emma hi-fiving Sponge Bob, cheering, and receiving her award! If you use these, a link back to us would be nice.
While you’re waiting for the pictures to arrive (and they’re taking their sweet time too!), why not enter in the catch up challenge at watsonlims? All those people who forgot to enter or were voted out are given one more chance to prove themselves! All the details can be found at the LJ post here (reminder: you must have some sort of an LJ to participate).
EDIT! You can finally (!) view some pictures taken by Emma’s dad on her official website.
EDIT! Thanks to Tayna for lettings us know about an absolutely adorable video of Emma receiving the Best Actress award at the Kids Choice Awards!
If you attempted to visit the site earlier today and were unable to get to it – no fear, we’re back! There was a bit of host downtime but all is well now.
Emma’s official site has been updated, promising that “phase two” of the website will come soon and also reminding us that Emma is scheduled to be at the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix DVD launch today! Exciting, huh? Can’t wait to have those pictures up!
Sparkly! has been updated a bit with some miscellaneous icons! Thanks to Cassandra for her generous donations, available here. If you have any icons, wallpapers, banners, animations, or anything else you’ve made, feel welcome to send those in as well and we’ll be delighted to add them to the site!
Another upgrade, thanks to EW.net! We now have pretty HQish pictures of Emma (and Rupert and Dan) from the ancient Teen Vogue photoshoot from way back in 2004. It’s one of my favourites, and I’m sure it’s one of yours too! Enjoy!
Thanks to the wonderful people at EW.net forums, we have a few more high resolution pictures of Emma on the set of her upcoming television drama movie, Ballet Shoes. Here we see Emma as Pauline, having fun with a fellow castmate and mucking around. We’d previously had these in medium quality, but thanks to these images, we have been upgraded!
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards were on last night (27 October) where Emma received her award. Hopefully some of you lucky Britons managed to catch it.
Anyway, I felt extremely productive today and made five new .gifs for the site. They are otherwise known as animations and you can check them out here. If you ever wonder why you love Emma you should check out her interviews. I had such a good time going through some old videos. She’s so adorable!
Oh, and also, I updated the icons section with so many new icons – in every category. Most of the icons have been stored on my computer for months, and I just thought I would put them up. I swear, one day I will go through all of my icons and get rid of the ugly ones (which is about 90% since what I like changes all the time), but for now you can just enjoy the variety, eh? ;)
EDIT! Yellow, dears! Thanks to the lovely Juliet we now have those wanted pictures of Emma at the OotP Press Conference. These are all lovely, HQ and best of all, untagged! Huzzah! Let’s party down, yes?
EDIT! Me again. I’ve added the ihw.net corkboard, with things such as last uploads, featured graphics, calenders and to-do list. Just a little thing to keep you guys informed of the stuff we are yet to do, and the stuff we have done, as well as showcasing our fabulous donators and graphic makers! The link is to the left, just under the navigation. – Kaetlyn
EDIT! First off, thanks to Ameigh for letting us know about two videos of Emma at the Kid’s Choice Awards shown on Disney UK yesterday. You can see her accepting her award here, and presenting here. Thanks also to EWnet, who found a new nine-minute press junket interview with Emma you can check out on their YouTube here.
Speaking of interviews, we’re bringing yet another new feature of I♥Watson to you today! The IHW press archive is making it’s grand debut.
The gorgeous layout was created by Kaetlyn and the archive is powered by WordPress just like our news system. If you find any articles that aren’t in there now that you’d really like to be up, let us know by posting them in the comments or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. For now, we’ll just be scouring the web for every article we can find! If you have a transcription from any audio or video interviews with Emma, please do let us know and it’d be totally awesome if we could add them! Thank you, and enjoy! – Allison
It may have been weeks since we promised, but we’ve finally got a new layout! I guess nearly a third of a year with the same one is more than enough, huh? This one was made by Kaetlyn, and I/we sure hope you like it as much as I do! If you notice you are having any technical difficulties, please let me know. It was probably something of my doing, but I couldn’t wait for Allison to put it up (those e-mails will be forwarded to her anyway!).
You might have already noticed, but I redesigned Sparkly! a little bit. I’ve also added loads of icon donations! Speaking of the icon section, I’ve rearranged that so that the pages are sorted out by artist (were my 200+ icons keeping anyone else from viewing anything under my name in less than 5 minutes?!). You probably don’t care about that, though.
I wanted to let everyone know that Caitlin, who you may recognize from the forums, is now officially helping out with the Style Files. She’s added lots of new matches for those interested, including the dress from the National Movie Awards, if you haven’t already seen that! She won’t be able to make updates directly here so I will try to keep up with that but make sure you take a look every once in a while.
Unfortunately I have nothing else exciting to tell you. Just enjoy the new layout! :)
By the way – if you missed the last post, Emma will be attending the Order of the Phoenix DVD launch on November 3rd, next Saturday.
EDIT: I definitely did not underestimate myself. The layout is not supposed to look like this, so don’t worry! It should be fixed soon. Fixed!
