Emma news has been a little scarce lately with “Potter” promos over but she has appeared in news tidbits around the world! I, for one, love lists and so we have a little news update featuring lists! It’s sure to be exciting, believe me. Please do not hesitate to email us news, tidbits, random photos and videos – we love all the contributions we receive and really makes our site ‘run by fans, for fans’. Fun fact: we’re turning FOUR soon so we’ll be cooking up some goodies to celebrate.
• Ciarán Hinds, the Irish actor who has been cast as the eclectic and misunderstood Aberforth Dumbledore, has spoken briefly about his time on the “Potter” set. He spoke on his interaction with the main Potter trio and their professionalism and acting maturity on set. These sure are powerful accolades for Dan, Rupert and Emma and really add depth to the intensity of the shoot.
“It was surreal to be in a room with those three kids, all of whom know exactly what they’re doing. And then there’s you, who has been around for a long time, and they’re the ones putting you at ease and making sure you know what you’re doing on set. It was bizarre. But it was also really interesting to see things from that perspective. With every job, you’re typically looking for the director to make sure you’re doing the right thing but with Emma, Rupert and Daniel, that has become part of their psyche.”
“They’ve been doing that job so long, they have such ease and an instant connection with it, and a real truthfulness.”
“Emma was starting university in America and that was made clear for the deadline of the films. They had to shoot round people’s availability. They were all committed to other things. It had to be a nightmare trying to get the schedules drawn up.”
• MTV have also featured a couple of news articles on “Deathly Hallows”, listing Hermione as the winner in their ‘10 Best Movie Witches‘ list and the ‘30 Most Exciting Films for 2011‘. Here’s what MTV said about the second part:
Although the “Harry Potter” novels have been finished for years, fans of J.K. Rowling’s beloved fantasy series have been putting off the mourning period until the final movie arrives in theaters. Well, that time is almost upon us, but the tears can wait — for now, we can’t wait to see what director David Yates has cooked up with his interpretation of the final “Harry Potter” story of all time.
• Awards season is drawing closer and “Deathly Hallows: Part 1″ has drawn in it’s fair share of awards nominations. It’s currently on the BAFTA longlist for eight awards – ‘Make Up & Hair’, ‘Editing’, ‘Special Visual Effects’, ‘Costume Design’, ‘Sound’, ‘Production Design’, ‘Cinematography’ and ‘Original Music’ – as well as being shortlisted for the 2011 Academy Awards for ‘Best Visual Effects’!
• And something for you Ron/Hermione fans – our favourite Sidekickers, Ron and Hermione, have come up trumps in Forbes’ ‘Highest Grossing On-Screen Couple‘, grossing over $US9.3 billion worldwide! They beat out “Lord of the Rings” couple Aragon and Arwen, “Pirates of the Carribean” couple Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner and “Titanic” Jack and Rose.
Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who play Hermione and Ron in the ‘Harry Potter’ films, top Forbes’ list of the highest-grossing on-screen couples of the past 10 years, as the hit fantasy film franchise has pulled in $6.3 billion worldwide.
