Also Vogue.co.uk have published a short piece (excuse the pun) on the rising trend of pixie crops amongst young startlets and has featured Emma as one of the examples! They also posted some helpful hints for those who want to take the plunge and chop off your hair and emulate stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Carey Mulligan, Emma Watson and Emily Browning, and try out a pixie cut!

Last week Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson went against the grain by chopping off her hair into an extremely short pixie haircut, revealing it to fans on Facebook and Twitter alongside the comment, “I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years; it’s the most liberating thing ever.” While her dramatic cut was an instant sensation, Watson is not the only famous face to “liberate” themselves from lengthy locks. We spoke to creative director of Daniel Hersheson salons hairstylist extraordinaire George Northwood, who counts Watson among his bulging client list, to get his thoughts on our pick of celebrity pixie crops both old and new.

For those among you looking to try out the style, Northwood suggests a little “creative visualisation” first: “I would say tie your hair back as tight as you can and see what you think of your ears. So many girls have never really seen their ears because they always have their hair covering them, so I’d say do that first. Maybe take some pictures from the side, of the profile, too. Ask yourself ‘do I like myself and my ears without hair’.” Wise words indeed. source
