The Daily Mail are reporting that Emma has joined an all-star cast for the movie “My Week with Marilyn”; the story chronicles the real life rift between screen legends Sir Lawrence Olivier and Marylin Monroe on the set of their 1957 film “The Prince and the Showgirl”. Emma is rumoured to play Lucy, Monroe’s wardrobe assistant, who shares a few dates with Olivier’s assistant, a role which Eddie Redmayne is speculated to play; the movie is set to star Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe and fellow-Potter alum, Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart), as Sir Laurence Olivier.
Emma will play Lucy, a wardrobe assistant working behind the scenes during the making of The Prince And The Showgirl in 1956.
Lucy and Clark had a few dates which, according to his book The Prince, The Showgirl And Me (a precursor to My Week With Marilyn), usually involved Clark whizzing her up to London in his Bristol sports car, visiting a club and going on to his parents’ ‘set’ at The Albany, where ‘she kisses like an angel’. Hopefully we’ll get some sort of confirmation, either from Emma’s reps or Emma herself, about this project really soon; at the moment it’s currently filed alongside the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” rumour which appeared a few months ago. Any thoughts, iheartwatson-ites?

A mini follow-up from previous posts; the People Tree Facebook has been updated with a brand new picture of CEO Safia with Emma from their promotional tour of Bangladesh! You can clearly see in the background a little scribble of an autograph and a handprints, which we can only assume are Emma’s, on the “School of Fair Trade” wall. The photo can be seen here in the gallery, or follow the preview picture below!
A brand new nine minute interview with Emma and Safia has appeared online; the video features some new comments from both Emma and Safia about the importance of Fair Trade and was shot during Emma’s brief stay in Bangladesh. Another video was released a while ago which followed Emma around Bangladesh as she observed workers, their conditions and acted as tutor for the day! Check out the video below and captures will come, hopefully, by the weekend.
As we reported a while back Emma was set to make a video appearance at the ‘A Garden Party to Make a Difference’ tea party hosted by Prince Charles, introducing the new People Tree line! The video has found its way onto Youtube and features Emma (with her pixie crop!) talking briefly about People Tree and Prince Charles’ charity initiative. A few screen captures from the video have been added into our galleries.
Emma is currently starting her second year at Brown Univeristy. She recently Twittered about her going back to uni and wishes everyone a great year back! In other Twitter-related news Emma has also retweeted a plea from @UNICEF for text donations for flood relief in Pakistan! Also, Safia, the founder of People Tree, has spoken briefly with The Daily Mail about the free trade launch at the garden party and has left a glowing comment about Emma’s endorsement! Check out both quotes below.
It’s great to be back at uni – having the best time! Good luck to everyone else starting school this week, Em x Source
