Emma started modelling for Burberry in 2009 and was the face of Burberry for two campaigns. She was replaced in mid-2010 by model-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Burberry have expressed interest in working with Emma again.

BURBERRY AUTUMN/WINTER 2009

After a week of speculation, it was confirmed by Jo on Emma Watson Official that Emma would be the new face of Burberry. Describing it as a “the biggest ego boost of my life”, Emma signed on with Burberry and used by the infamous Christopher Bailey. Her first shoot took place in the heart of London and the legendary Burberry check was prominent on the models. Emma was placed alongside well-known British models Charlie France, Douglas Booth and Nick Wilson for the shoot. Explaining to the Burberry audience that she has been wearing Burberry all her life because her mother and grandmother are Burberry fanatics, she revealed the fashion, especially Burberry fashion, has provided a means to paint her fashion canvas.

The campaign was received with much acclaim with Christopher Bailey classifying her as “one of the great new British talents” who was now an honourary member of the “Burberry family”.

BURBERRY SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Emma kickstarted 2010 with another fashion bang by appearing once more as the face of Burberry for the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. She also brought with her a surprise – her brother, Alex Watson, debuting into the modelling world! This shoot featured the infamous Burberry trench and check, but also introduced some new fresh faces to pose alongside Emma and her brother, in the form of British musician and model George Craig. Christopher Bailey commented on the relationship between the siblings as a “dynamic … [with] lots of brother and sister energy”.
