First Year: 1991 (aged 12)

Finished: 1998 (aged 18), following a semi-voluntary year off to help Harry hunt down the Horcruxes that would ensure Harry’s defeat of Lord Voldemort.

House: Placed into Gryffindor, but it is revealed in ‘Order of the Phoenix’ that the Sorting Hat considered placing her in Ravenclaw (the house for the wise and cunning)

Exam Results:
- Earned 11 O.W.L.s (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) in her fifth year, receiving 10 “Outstanding” marks in the following: Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Herbology, Astronomy, History of Magic, Arithmancy, Ancient Runes and one other class); and one “Exceeds Expectations” mark in Defence Against the Dark Arts.
- Missed her N.E.W.T.s and final year at Hogwarts due to committing herself to helping Harry and Ron in finding and destroying the Horcruxes; she later returned to Hogwarts the following year to complete her studies and graduate properly.

Awards and School Honours: Gryffindor Prefect in fifth and sixth year (along with Ron Weasley), hypothesised Head Girl had she completed her seventh year, the “brightest witch of her age”, co-founding member of Dumbledore’s Army and the founding member of S.P.E.W.

Amortentia: Hermione smells the following – freshly mown grass, new parchment and Ron’s hair.

Wand: Hermione purchased a 10 3/4″ vine wood wand with a dragon heartstring core in 1991. She used it until the spring of 1998, when she, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley were captured by Snatchers, who confiscated their wands. She subsequently used Bellatrix Lestrange’s wand.
