1979
September 19: Hermione Jean Granger born to Muggle dentist parents.
1991
September 1: Hermione Granger begins her first year at Hogwarts and meets Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom on the Hogwarts Express to their first semester at school.
October 31: A mountain troll interrupts the Halloween feast and almost kills Hermione Granger, who is crying in the bathrooms following her overhearing of scathing remarks made by Ron Weasley. She is saved by Harry and Ron, after which they become friends.
1992
May 26: Harry, Hermione, Neville and Malfoy serve their detentions in the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid supervising; they track down a dead unicorn. Harry encounters Voldemort for the first time, but is unaware of this fact.
Early June: Harry, Hermione and Ron follow Quirrell into the third floor corridor and defeat a number of challenging tasks and puzzles in order to get to the Philosopher’s Stone before Quirrell (who is working for Lord Voldemort). They are all injured, yet sit their end-of-year examinations.
Mid-June: Gryffindor wins the House Cup (with Harry, Ron, Neville and Hermione scoring 255 points for Gryffindor for their activities in securing the Philosopher’s Stone), but not the Quidditch cup, which goes to Slytherin.
September 1: The Gryffindor Trio join their peers on the Hogwarts Express and are set to begin their second year at Hogwarts.
November 8: Ginny Weasley opens the Chamber of Secrets and releases the monster on Muggle-borns and Half-Bloods in the school; Ron and Hermione begin to brew the Polyjuice Potion to find out who is the Heir of Slytherin.
December 25: Polyjuice Potion completed. Harry and Ron successfully transform into Crabbe and Goyle, Draco Malfoy’s hired Slytherin goons and enter the Slytherin common room. They find out Malfoy is not the Heir of Slytherin – while all this is going on, Hermione has unknowingly put cat hair into the Polyjuice Potion, transforming her into a half-human, half-cat hybrid; she spends the next month in the hospital wing.
1993
May 8: Hermione Granger and Penelope Clearwater are petrified by the Basilisk. The Hogwarts Quidditch Cup is cancelled and the school is threatened to be shut down.
May 29: Harry defeats the creature in the Chamber of Secrets. Later that night, the petrified people (including Hermione) are restored using Mandrake Draught.
Early July: The Granger family vacations in France.
August 31: Harry meets Hermione and Ron in Diagon Alley. They all stay at the Leaky Cauldron, and during their back-to-school shopping, Hermione buys Crookshanks.
September 1: The students return back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – Harry, Ron and Hermione for their third year. Dementors search the Hogwarts Express wile students are on their way to school and continue to patrol the school grounds.
December 25: Harry receives a Firebolt, but McGonagall takes it away after Hermione informs her that is was given to him by an anonymous owl. Harry and Ron are angry with Hermione for weeks over this fact.
1994
February: Sirius Black breaks into Gryffindor Tower, using Neville’s misplaced password list.
April 20: The Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures considers the fate of the Hippogriff Buckbeak and sentences him to death.
June 6: Peter Pettigrew, disguised as Ron’s antique pet, Scabbers the rat, is cornered and revealed. In the Shrieking Shack Sirius Black and Remus Lupin explain the story of Pettigrew and reveal the story of the Marauders. After a series of unfortunate events, Sirius Black is captured and receives the Dementor’s Kiss; Harry and Hermione, under Dumbledore’s guidance, use the time-turner to travel back in time by three hours and save the innocent Buckbeak and Sirius Black.
August 22: Death Eaters crash the 422nd Quidditch World Cup. Harry, Hermione and the Weasleys are in attendance.
September 1: Harry and friends travel to Hogwarts aboard the Hogwarts Express and begin their fourth year.
December 25: Hermione attends the Yule Ball with Bulgarian bon-bon Viktor Krum; Harry and Ron spend the night jealous of other partners and completely ignore their own dates.
1995
February 24: Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament. Hermione is rescued from the depths of the Black Lake by Viktor Krum from the merpeople.
June 24: Harry and Cedric Diggory are captured by Pettigrew and the Death Eaters. In the midst of confusion, Cedric is killed and Harry is used to resurrect the Dark Lord. Harry escapes and returns to Hogwarts where he informs everyone that Voldemort has returned. Back at Hogwarts, Professor Moody is revealed to be infact Barty Crouch Jnr. in disguise, working for Lord Voldemort.
August 31: Hermione and Ron receive their notification of their appointments to Gryffindor Prefects.
September 1: A busy day as students make their way to Harry, Ron and Hermione’s fifth year at Hogwarts. Introduction of Dolores Umbridge as the new Defence of the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts. Harry’s allegations that Voldemort has returned are slammed by The Daily Prophet and by the Minister of Magic alike – he is treated with mistrust and scepticism by his peers (non-Gryffindors and Gryffindors alike).
October 5: On the first Hogsmeade weekend, Harry and Hermione found ‘Dumbledore’s Army’. Hermione invites interested students to the Hog’s Head and twenty-eight people turn up.
October 9: Thanks to a tip from Dobby, they find a place to meet under watchful eye of Dolores Umbridge – the Room of Requirement. They spend their first lesson working on the disarmament charm, Expelliarmus.
December 25: The Order visits Mr. Weasley in St. Mungo’s Hospital. There, they also meet Neville and his parents and an enchanted Professor Lockhart who has just learnt to write joint writing!
1996
April: Dumbledore’s Army is discovered by Umbridge and her Inquisitorial Squad after Marietta Edgecombe squeals on them. Rather than let Harry get expelled, Dumbledore takes the fall instead and is removed from Hogwarts. He escapes in true Dumbledore style, making a dramatic and memorable escape whilst in the hands of two professionally trained Aurors.
June: Hermione and the rest of the fifth year sit their O.W.L. examinations, but they are interrupted by a vision of Sirius being tortured. After a delay trying to contact Grimmauld Place and being caught by Umbridge, Harry takes off for the Ministry of Magic Headquarters to find Sirius. The Gryffindor sextet accompany Harry in his mission.
The ‘Battle of the Department of Mysteries’, a pitched battle is fought between members of the Army, a group of Death Eaters and members of the Order of the Phoenix. Sirius Black is killed in the midst of the conflict. Voldemort appears at the Ministry and fights Dumbledore in the Atrium – he is exposed to the top Aurors of the Ministry and the Minister of Magic has no choice but to acknowledge the Dark Lord’s return.
Early July: The second war between good and evil officially begins, with a series of tumulus events occurring both in the Magical world and Muggle world. Rufus Scrimgeour replaces Cornelius Fudge as Minister of Magic.
Mid-October: Quidditch tryouts begin for the Gryffindor team, with Harry as Quidditch Captain. Hermione confounds Cormac McLaggen to ensure securing the Keeper’s role for Ron.
November: The Gryffindor team wins its first match. The team wins largely thanks to Harry who pretends to give Ron the Felix Felicis potion before the game to bolster his confidence. After the game, Ron and Lavender share a kiss during the after-party, much to Hermione’s dismay.
December 20: The Slug Club Christmas party – Hermione invites Cormac McLaggen to the event to annoy Ron.
1997
March 1: Ron’s seventeenth birthday. Shortly after waking up, Ron accidentally eats some love potion infused chocolates meant for Harry. He is then inadvertently poisoned and saved by Harry. In hospital, waking from his hazy stupor, Ron mumbles Hermione’s name.
June: ‘The Battle of the Tower’ fought between Dumbledore’s Army members and Death Eaters, snuck in by Draco Malfoy and a vanishing cabinet in the Room of Requirement. Harry and Dumbledore return from their fact-finding mission; Harry witnesses Snape killing Dumbledore, picking up from where Draco Malfoy could not perform. Harry, Ron and Hermione discover that the locket taken from the Cave is not the real Horcrux, but rather it was replaced by a fake one from R.A.B. McGonagall is made acting Headmaster of Hogwarts and determines that students will be allowed to stay for Dumbledore’s funeral and to return to resume schooling.
Much of the British wizarding world comes to Hogwarts to bid farewell to the “greatest headmaster Hogwarts ever had”. Harry rejects Scrimgeour’s proposal to merge together to fight Voldemort and walks off with Ron and Hermione. He pledges to find the Horcruxes himself, but Ron and Hermione argue with him and pledge to stand with him and help him in his quest.
