Although previously shunning social networking sites, Emma has recently adopted means to communicate with her fans while she travels around the world, studies at Brown University and generally lives life as a regular girl-next-door.
Please note that while Emma does have all these places to communicate with fans she does deserve that her fans respect her privacy and that a healthy boundary between 'Emma-the-actress' and 'Emma-the-girl' should be maintained!

NY Times have released an indepth and cohesive interview with Emma from the set of ‘Perks’. In the interview, Emma talks about the different experiences on set, her fondest memories, eating in a cafeteria, going to prom and much more! The movie is rumoured to be having a mid-2012 release. The entire interview can be read here in our press archives.
Accompanying the new interview, our first official look at Emma as Sam from the movie! The first promotional image from the film, also featuring Logan Lerman as Charlie, can be seen in our galleries; as can a new behind-the-scenes photo of Emma, Logan and director-writer-screenwriter Stephen Chbosky, which can be seen here in our galleries.
Edit! Both pictures have been replaced with high quality.
“Oh my goodness, so many firsts,” she said, speaking in an excited rush during a break from filming. “I did the prom! We all get dressed up and we go in a limo, and get photographs. It’s been really fun for me to get to graduate. Eating in the school canteen; all these things that I’ve always sort of said to my American friends, ‘Oh, that looks amazing, that looks so fun, I’m jealous.’ And I get to do it for this movie.”
And Ms. Watson, accustomed to acting alongside people and in a story she had known for a decade, “started freaking out,” she said. She threw herself into research, e-mailing friends about their high school experiences and worrying about how to create a bond with this new, unfamiliar clique. (Shades of the encyclopedic Hermione are there, and of Ms. Watson’s semesters at Brown University, where she plans to return to complete her undergraduate degree.)
But studiousness wasn’t necessary. They just hung out. They formed a hotel-room band: Mr. Miller drummed, Mr. Lerman played guitar, and Ms. Watson sang. They jokingly called themselves Octopus Jam. Friends dropped by; noise complaints followed. Before she knew it, the world of Hogwarts had receded.
As we’ve previously reported, Emma is covering this month’s issue of ‘Elle UK’. On newsstands in the U.K. now this issue features a new interview with Emma as well as a new photoshoot by Rankin. Scans from the editorial have been previously uploaded and you can check them out here in the galleries. There are also two videos online from the set of the photoshoot in Paris. Quotes from the article from Emma have been released and you can check them out below.
“I’d never do a celebrity endorsement. Lancôme was taken aback by how much input I wanted to have. But I would never just put my name on something. It’s more interesting to have a genuine involvement with a brand, rather than showing up on the day and looking pretty. Also, as much as I do love fashion, I’m an actress first and foremost. Lancôme represents great actresses and that appealed to me.”
“Women are really hard on themselves and the media is really hard on us. Whenever I hear anyone say anything about another woman that’s negative about their image, I just jump on them.”
“Sometimes I feel as though everyone’s waiting with baited breath for the three of us from Harry Potter to do something that will perpetuate the child-star stereotype,” she told the November edition of UK magazine Elle. “I don’t know if I’m the least likely person to go off the rails, but I don’t see any need to. It’s not on my agenda. There are too many other things I want to do.”
She loves dancing and is also partial to an alcoholic beverage at times. “I’m not that much of a lightweight. My dad’s great hobby is wine, so it’s always been part of our family life,” she explained. “For someone so little, I don’t get drunk very easily. It’s quite a good talent. I’m not challenging anyone to a competition though!”
“I can’t even imagine what that kind of fame must be like. So many people must wish they were in [Rob Pattinson]‘s position and think that he has the best life, but actually… there are prices you pay. Don’t interpret that from my perspective; it’s not so bad for me. I’m not in Rob’s position, I don’t have people screaming and crying and clawing at me. I’m so grateful for that,” she said.
“I do worry about the expectation to look a certain way. I find LA quite scary because of that – all those young people having plastic surgery. But the thing is, I don’t want to look like everyone else. I don’t have perfect teeth; I’m not stick thin. I want to be the person who looks great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything. It’s ridiculous that that seems like such an unrealistic goal.”
“I think the actresses who are really successful are the ones who are comfortable in their own skins and still look human.”
The magazine hits newsstands in the UK next week on Wednesday, 5th October 2011.
In the issue—on newsstands Wednesday 5 October—the perennial ELLE favourite opens up about the ‘out of body’ experience of the final round of Harry Potter premieres, her creative role models, ‘it’s complicated’ relationships and travelling while famous.

MTV’s First Look at “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”
Remember that it was announced MTV would visit the set of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower“? They released their (first?) footage this week as part of their ‘10 of Hollywood’s hottest up-and-comers‘. The video gives us a behind the scenes look and short interviews with the cast. It’s definitely a must watch you will see footage of Emma dancing (and she got some moves) and we assume during graduation.
Based on the 1999 novel by Stephen Chbosky, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” follows introverted high school freshman Charlie as he slowly comes out of his shell thanks to new friends, siblings Sam (played by Emma Watson) and Patrick (played by Ezra Miller). We recently caught up with the cast on set, where they were filming the homecoming scene, to get the scoop on the talent-heavy production.
“I feel incredible about it. I feel like I’ve been waiting for ‘Perks,’ ” Emma, who we dubbed Most Likely To Win An Oscar, said. “I was waiting for this story, for this script, for this moment, for these people to do it with me. I’m so glad I didn’t do anything that I didn’t care about.”
ElleUK have also released a teaser image, asking their followers: “Guess who ELLE’s November cover star is?” Although covered, it looks an awful lot like Emma! This shoot appears to be new and is apparently by Rankin and was shot in Paris. ElleUK is promising a behind-the-scenes video for the shoot and it is supposed to be up tomorrow morning – can’t wait!
It’s nearly that time again. The new issue of ELLE is htting newstands next Wednesday – but who’s our November cover star?
We’ll give you some clues. The shoot took place in Paris and it stars a British actress. It’s not the first time that she’s graced the cover of ELLE. And she looks incredible, even if we do say so ourselves.
So who do you think it is? Click back tomorrow morning and we’ll reveal all – and we’ll even share a clip of our behind-the-scenes film…
Our November issue is about to hit stands. Look for the lovely and charming Emma Watson; discover the fragrance that men can’t resist (ELLE staff attest to its powers)—and find out whether you’re a tweenysomething. Hint: If you believe unicorns are real, you may be a member of what we’re calling the “cupcake culture set.” Plus…. with a nip in the air, it’s time to kick off that annual fall fashion migration to find the perfect coat. (I’ve found mine recently—a gorgeous green cocoon-like jacket from Lida Baday.) Inside the magazine we’ve chosen some of our faves of the season.
