Cartier International Polo Match

A little bit of detail and DIY on the Cartier International Polo Match outfit, accessories, hair and makeup!

At the Cartier International Polo Match in London, Emma showed up looking very summery in a delicate white dress.

Mix'n'Match!: You can pick up quite a few fantastic ideas here - the all white outfit, lace detail, coiffed but still somehow messy hair, bright red lips. She certainly looks like she belongs out there with all the socialites! You don't have to wear a girly dress and heels to achieve this look - you can choose a romantic victorian style top, or maybe just incorporate some white into your outfit.

Hair/Makeup Guide

Emma doesn't have much makeup on her eyes, which allows her lips to be the main focus without anything else competing with them. However, her lashes really stand out. Start by curling them for extra emphasis, then apply one or two coats of a thickening mascara like CoverGirl LashBlast. To achieve Emma's rosy glow, apply a powder blush. Benefit's Dandelion works great as a blush if you're fair skinned like Emma is here, but girls with darker complexions can try NARS' ever popular blush in a colour like Amour or Orgasm. To get that bright, pretty lip colour, a lip stain like Stila Cherry Crush would work really well.

I can't find any photos that can enlighten me as to what exactly is going on with the back of Emma's hair, so we're going to have to do some guesswork. It'd be ideal to have straightened hair for this look, but it's not necessary so I won't go into the details - I'm sure everyone knows how to get their hair straight! Start by applying a texturizing balm to your hair, like Jonathan Dirt Texturizing Paste (the name doesn't sound too appealing, but it's a great product!). Then grab a load of bobby pins and sort of gather your hair back. What you do depends on the length - if your hair is relatively short like Emma's, you can leave the front section and some wispy pieces out for a casual look. You'll also probably be able to just pin it back as you please. If you have longer hair, I'd suggest doing a french twist. It's a bit too complicated to explain here, but I promise you'll find plenty of videos on YouTube! If you still want the messy look like she has, but with longer hair, I'd probably loosely curl the pieces you're going to leave out so they aren't so much just hanging there. Finish with hairspray if you like, but it's not really necessary!
